Food Groups & Risk of Chronic Disease

Available evidence from recent studies suggest that food based prevention of chronic disease risk should prioritise fruits, vegetables, whole grains & fish, while lowering consumption of sugar sweetened drinks, red & processed meats. Nuts, legumes, vegetable oils, fermented dairy products & tea/coffee might confer additional benefit (BMJ 2018;361:k2396).
